Lord Akrinok

"These scars are the only thing I received from him... I hated him until the day he died."                   -Xibalba about his father.

The previous ruler of the Land of the Forgotten, Akrinok was known to be the last of the mighty dragons, and for his cruelty both in battle and with those around him. The most evident examples of this are on his wife Selena and his two children, Zipacna and Xibalba. It is even rumored that he murdered Selena when she finally stood up to him, but no one knows for certain. When Zipacna was born, Akrinok thought Selena had been unfaithful to him and never accepted him as his son, but he didn't treat Xibalba any better; he wanted to make him cold-hearted and merciless, just like him, but when La Muerte came into his son's life it seemed like his efforts were thwarted, though unfortunately the damage was still done though on a lesser degree that he wanted. 
Neither Xibalba or Zipacna have anything positive to say about their father; in fact, Xibalba doesn't even talk about him to Marigold, he doesn't want her to know her grandfather was such a... Well, you know. Still, Marigold somehow found out about Akrinok, but chose not to mention if to her father. 
Though he was killed in a duel when Xibalba was fifteen years old, not even in death did he leave his son in peace. He would often appear to him when alone to taunt him about his failures and mistakes.
He was born in a clan of Drampires, but for some reason he never grew his fangs before his fiftieth birthday and lost his chance. He was deeply affected by this, and felt like the black sheep of the family, though his brethren never treated him as such and tried to include him as much as they could. But it was not enough for him, and eventually he left the clan to 'find his own path'. He never introduced his wife and children to his family, but the clan would like to meet them in person. Perhaps one of them got the gene...
